All-electric Lamborghini Urus EV to go on sale in 2029
Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has revealed the launch timeline for the Urus EV. He was speaking on the sidelines of the Aventador successor’s preview event.
Winkelmann confirmed that the next-gen Urus will be an all-electric SUV. This means the upcoming Urus Hybrid will be the last iteration of Lamborghini’s flagship SUV to use the twin-turbo V8 engine.
The Urus PHEV will arrive next year and is expected to be powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 paired with an electric motor offering a combined output of around 820 hp. The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid uses the same powertrain, albeit in a lower state of tune.
Lamborghini also announced the replacement for the Huracan. The Huracan successor is expected to be powered by a twin-turbo V8 hybrid. It will debut in 2024.
