First 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 rolls off the assembly line
The production of the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is now underway at General Motors’ Bowling Green factory in Kentucky. The carmaker released this image of the first Z06 as it rolled off the assembly line.
Chevrolet started taking orders for the 2023 Corvette Z06 in July this year, while production commenced in September. According to reports, the first batch of cars left the factory on November 3, 2022.
The Z06 is the latest in the line of mid-engine Corvettes. However, the differences between the standard model and the Z06 are more than skin deep. This high-performance version packs a 5.5-liter V8 engine featuring a flat-plane crank, dual overhead cams and dry sump lubrication. The result is 670 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
The naturally-aspirated V8 is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic that sends power to the rear axle. Chevrolet claims the new Z06 will sprint from 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds. It can reach a top speed of 195 mph.
In USA, prices for the Z06 start at just over $106,000. If you live in Europe, securing a slot for the new ‘Vette can be a bit tricky.
