Hennessey Venom F5 spits flames with ‘F5 Mode’ engaged
Hennessey Performance has released a video of the Venom F5 hypercar undergoing high speed tests. Apparently, it was not a “top speed test” but one of the many tests conducted by the Hennessey engineering team to evaluate the high-speed stability of the vehicle.
In the video, they talk about the Venom F5’s so-called ‘F5 mode’, which is said to unleash the full fury of the 6.6-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The motor develops 1817 hp @ 8000 rpm and 1,193 lb-ft @ 5000 rpm and is paired with a semi-automatic single-clutch transmission that drives the rear wheels.
The Venom F5 is said to be capable of reaching a top speed in excess of 300 mph. The recent high speed test is one step towards a proper top speed run. Can it beat the mighty Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+? Only time will tell.
The high speed test was conducted at Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds in Florida.
