Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 unveiled at The Quail

Back in March this year, we had reported that Lamborghini was working on a limited-edition model to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Countach. Well, the Countach LPI 800-4 has just been revealed at The Quail.

The new Countach looks absolutely amazing. Its design is a proper blend of contemporary lines with hints of the original. As if it was designed front the ground up, although it shares its underpinnings with the Sian FKP 37.

The Countach LPI 800-4 is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine mated to a hybrid system that uses a supercapacitor instead of a conventional lithium-ion battery. While this setup is similar to the Sian, peak output has been boosted to 814 hp.

Lamborghini claims that the Countach can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds. 0-124 mph comes up in 8.5 seconds, and the car will hit a top speed of 220 mph. The car weighs 1595 kg dry and rides on 20-inch front and 21-inch wheels at the rear.

The Countach LPI 800-4 features a distinctive Countach face. The classic wedge shape with uncluttered lines hark back to the original and so do the rectangular headlamps. Other details include the Y-shaped vents on the sides, the so-called ‘hexagonita’ design shaping the triple-pod tail lamps and the quad exhausts.

Like we said, the Countach LPI 800-4 is a limited edition model, and as we had reported earlier, only 112 units will be produced.
