Lamborghini Sian-USA-1

America’s first Lamborghini Sian has landed in California

Last week, we saw the unique spec on Mexico’s only Lamborghini Sian. Now, just around Christmas, the first Sian in the USA has landed in California. The car was delivered to Lamborghini Newport Beach.

The Sian you see here is finished in a dual-tone of black and orange, obviously. At first glance, it looks like a typical spec you would see on a Lamborghini. Especially, with that orange shade. The interior is all black with orange highlights to match the exterior theme.

The Sian is Lamborghini’s first mild-hybrid supercar. It is powered by a 6.5-liter, naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces 785 hp @ 8500 rpm and 531 lb-ft @ 6750 rpm. A 48 V electric motor adds another 34 hp and 28 lb-ft of torque, for a combined output figure of 819 hp.

It may be based on the 10 year old Aventador, but it does pack something unique. The hybrid system uses a lithium-ion supercapacitor to store energy. It is said to be 3-times more powerful than a conventional battery and has the same weight. The super capacitor is recharged during braking, like any other re-generative braking setup.
