Schumacher Jr. Drives a Ferrari F8 Tributo at Fiorano
When was the last time you saw a Schumacher driving a Ferrari?
Michael Schumacher won his last Formula 1 title for Ferrari back in 2004. Almost 15 years later, we have a Schumacher back in the seat of a Ferrari. Well, not in an F1 car but in a Ferrari F8 Tributo.
Recently, Mick Schumacher got a chance to play around Ferrari’s private test track in an F8 Tributo. He has joined the Ferrari Driver Academy and it doesn’t seem long before we see him in cockpit of a Ferrari F1 car.
“This was a first for me — to be able to drive a Ferrari on this track. I was so looking forward to this. This exact spot where we’re sitting right now? I used to hang out a lot here as a kid, watching my dad drive,” Mick said.
The F8 Tributo packs a twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 which produces 720 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. That’s 50 hp more than the car it replaces – the 488 GTB. It is also 40 kg lighter than its predecessor and will do 211 mph.
