Only 209 examples of the first S-Line special edition model will be offered in the US. And the price of that exclusivity is astronomically high at $64,880 including $885 destination and delivery charge. Subaru is planning to make the Subaru WRX STI S209 Limited Edition performance sedans available in dealerships this year itself.
Along with exclusivity, a heavy dose of power, handling, aerodynamics and driver engagement improvement is delivered by the package which comprises of a significant chassis upgrade. The track is wider, there are new fender vents to flaunt, better Brembo brakes for superb stopping power, lots of aero components, new BBS wheels, and a heavily revised suspension setup which boosts handling.
Powered by an enhanced version of the EJ25 2.5-liter turbocharged boxer engine which benefits from the presence of an HKS STI turbocharger, an intercooler water spray system, larger fuel injectors, and a high-flow intake, the Subaru STI S209 Limited Edition has 341 hp of power and 330 lb-ft of torque to brandish.
A 6-speed manual transmission directs all the wholesome goodness to all four wheels with the help of a permanent four-wheel-drive system. Aided by front and rear slip differentials, DCCD, Active Torque Vectoring and Multi-Mode Vehicle Dynamics Control, and 3 drive modes, the limited edition does come with the good stuff to justify the fancy price tag.
Color choices are limited though with WR Blue on gray wheels and Crystal White Pearl on gold wheels being the only options on the menu.
