2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet to get a Hybrid Powertrain
The 2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet (992-gen) will be available with a hybrid powertrain. Similarly, future 911 coupe will also get an optional hybrid system.
Porsche has been spotted putting the new Porsche 911 through its paces up in the Arctic Circle. Spy shots of the reveal a completely new rear-end styling which will be carried over to the cabriolet version as well.
The new modular platform on which the upcoming model is based on is wider and has longer wheelbase compared to the 991 generation. Revised turbocharged engines will delivery slightly more performance than the current Carrera and Carrera S models.
In 2020, Porsche will introduce hybrid version of the 911 Cabriolet. These will use the same turbocharged 6-cylinder engines in conjunction with electric motors. The electric motors will be able to propel the car in pure-electric mode and will also be used to boost performance by working in tandem with the petrol engine.
