New Toyota Supra MkV to Debut at 2017 Tokyo Auto Show?

Everyone is waiting with bated breath for the launch of the new Toyota Supra. We still don’t have an official word on the actual launch date, however recent reports suggest, the new Supra MkV could debut at the 2017 Tokyo Auto Show in October.

Looks like Toyota wants its home market to host the new Supra and that’s quite understandable. Its been ages since the last Supra. In fact, the Supra went out of production 15 years ago. Since, then we haven’t had a similar sports car with an engine that’s infinitely customizable.

The new model is a joint effort between Toyota and BMW. It is expected to feature a V6 hybrid engine this time round. Underpinnings will be shared with the BMW Z5 and will be offered in hard top coupe body style. Styling will be based on the Toyota FT-1 concept as confirmed via recent spy shots.
