500th LaFerrari Sold at Auction for Record $7 Million
Ferrari planned to build 499 units of their flagship supercar- LaFerrari. Following the 6.2 earthquake that struck central Italy a few months back, Ferrari’s Sergio Marchionne announced that the company will build one last 500th LaFerrari that will be auctioned off to support the rebuilding process.
The 500th LaFerrari was sold at RM Sotheby’s auction held on the sidelines of the Finali Mondiali held at Daytona International Speedway in Florida. The last of the coupes, the LaFerrari Finale fetched a record $7 million making it the most expensive LaFerrari ever sold. Last time a LaFerrari was on offer, it sold for $5.2 million.
The 500th LaFerrari sold features a unique exterior with white pinstripe and the Italian tricolore painted on the nose.
