47 Bugatti Chirons Recalled worldwide

Bugatti Chiron recalled for faulty seat recliner brackets.

Bugatti has issued a recall of 47 examples of its $2.6 million Chiron hypercar, including 12 from the United States. The recall concerns with faulty welds in the seat recliner brackets.

Bugatti states that it has informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and all the owners of potentially faulty vehicles have been notified. Bugatti has promised to transport each Chiron via enclosed truck to the most convenient Bugatti dealership for inspections. In case a faulty weld is found, Bugatti will replace the entire seating assembly.

The recall proves that not even the most exquisitely crafted exotics are immune to issues related to design and manufacturing. The good part is that the company has caught the fault early since the deliveries of the Chiron have started only a few months ago and that less than 20% of the total production has been delivered to owners around the world.

Here’s hoping that we don’t get to see any more issues with the car and the entire production is delivered to owners on schedule.
