2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class revealed; gets 6-cylinder & V8 engines
Mercedes-Benz has revealed the updated G-wagon. While it still looks exactly the same as the original, the automaker has made incremental changes to the popular G-Class.
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class will be available in G550 and G63 variants. The former now gets a 3.0-liter, inline 6-cylinder engine instead of a V8. This engine develops 443 hp and is paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system that provides an additional 20 hp boost whenever required.
The 2025 Mercedes-AMG G63 carries forward the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. It also features a 48V mild-hybrid system and produces 577 hp. The new G63 comes with AMG Active Ride Control suspension that is said to improve on and off-road performance. It uses adaptive dampers with hydraulic roll stabilization.
Mercedes-Benz has also updated the G-wagon’s exterior design. The SUV now gets a new grille with reworked bumpers, new design alloy wheels and a roof spoiler at the rear. Inside, the G-Class comes with an ‘Offroad Cockpit’. It displays crucial information like a compass, altitude, steering angle, tire pressure, temperature, etc.
The 2025 G-Class also gets the ‘Transparent Hood’ that uses cameras to provide a view of what’s underneath the engine bay. This feature can come in handy when traversing through extremely rough terrain.
