2025 McLaren Artura Spider debuts with an updated V6 Hybrid powertrain
It’s been 2 years since the McLaren Artura made its debut on the global stage. Woking is now expanding its entry-level hybrid supercar range with the Artura Spider.
The McLaren Artura Spider features a retractable hardtop while retaining the flying buttress design. It can lowered or raised in 11 seconds at up to 31 mph.
McLaren has also made subtle design changes. The cooling vents on the engine cover have been repositioned to accommodate the roof mechanism, while the windscreen surround has been redesigned to reduce buffeting. At 3439 lbs, the convertible version does weigh slightly more than the coupe.
The Artura Spider is powered by an updated 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid that produces 690 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed transmission that is claimed to deliver 25% faster shift times. 0-60 mph comes up in 3.0 seconds, while top speed is limited to 205 mph. The supercar has a 7.4 kWh battery pack that offers an electric range of up to 21 miles.
The upgraded powertrain is now available on the Artura coupe as well. The 2025 model receives other updates, including new brake cooling ducts, better thermal cooling for the engine, and revised dampers with a Proactive Damping Control system.
The McLaren Artura Spider is available in three trims – Performance, TechLux and Vision, with prices starting at $273,800.
