2025 Continental GT Speed debuts; Most powerful Bentley ever!

In 2003, the Bentley Continental GT made its debut on the global stage back. Now, the automaker has now revealed the fourth-generation iteration of the luxury coupe. The 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed is the most powerful road car to come out of the Crewe factory, and for the first time, it features a hybrid powertrain.

The fourth-gen Continental GT Speed uses the brand’s “Ultra Performance Hybrid”. The 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine produces 592 hp. It is paired with a 187 hp electric motor, for a combined output of 771 hp. Peak torque has also gone up by 11% compared to the outgoing W12 engine, to 738 lb-ft.

The Continental GT is based on a 400V electric architecture. It packs a 25.9 kWh battery pack, which enables the car to cover 50 miles on electric power only. Full electric mode can be deployed at speeds of up to 87 mph, with throttle applications of up to 75 per cent.

The engine is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an electronic limited-slip differential that sends power to all four wheels. The system uses active torque vectoring front to rear through a centre differential, and precision vectoring across each axle using the brakes.

The Continental also features Bentley Dynamic Ride active anti roll system with dual valve dampers and dual chamber air springs. Brakes come in the form of 420 mm and 380 mm ventilated discs at the front and rear respectively. Carbon ceramics are available as an option as well.

According to Bentley, the new Continental has 65% new components compared to the outgoing version. Well, on the outside, it looks quite similar to the third-generation model, except for a few details like the lights, that were inspired by those of the Bentley Bacalar.

The interior isn’t too different either. It has a familiar dashboard layout with a 3-sided display in the centre, featuring a 12.3-inch touchscreen. There’s a large centre console and a 3-spoke steering wheel with a digital instrument cluster.

The 2025 Continental GT Speed is capable of sprinting from 0-60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and has a top speed of 208 mph. The convertible Continental GTC Speed takes 3.2 seconds to 60 mph and has its top speed limited 177 mph.
