2025 Audi RS 3 sets new Nurburgring lap record for compact cars
The 2025 Audi RS 3 has set a new lap record on the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Audi Sport racing driver Frank Stippler clocked an impressive time of 7 min 33.123 seconds, beating the previous record by more than 5 seconds.
Commenting on the achievement, Frank Stippler said, “The new RS 31 turns in more willingly at corner entry thanks to fine-tuning – including brake torque vectoring – which allows the vehicle to be positioned earlier and better for corner exit from the apex, at the latest. The result is a lower steering angle from apex to corner exit, which leads to less friction and earlier acceleration, allowing you to carry more momentum and speed onto each subsequent straight.”
The upcoming Audi RS 3 is powered by the brand’s legendary 2.5-liter, 5-cylinder engine that delivers 395 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The car was equipped with 19-inch ceramic brakes, RS sports suspension with adaptive damper control and an optimized chassis setup.
The lap record was set in a pre-production car fitted with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R semi-slick tires.
The 2025 Audi RS 3 will go on sale at the end of August, and deliveries will begin in October this year.
