2024 Porsche Cayenne facelift unveiled along with 189 MPH Turbo GT

Porsche has finally unveiled the latest Cayenne and its Coupe version. The carmaker has done extensive updates on both the model which includes changes on the outside, a new dashboard design, engine upgrades to name a few. The deliveries for the 2024 Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe are expected to commence from this summer.

What’s new on the 2024 Porsche Cayenne range

While the overall shape of the car has been retained, Porsche has incorporated some changes to the SUV. Some of these include the now standard Matrix Design LED headlights, a new hood and reprofiled fenders. At the back, the tail lights are now placed at the same level and the German carmaker is offering the SUV in three new color options – Algarve Blue Metallic, Montego Blue Metallic, and Arctic Grey.

The Coupe also comes with a Lightweight Sport Package. This reduces the weight of the car by 72 pounds.

On the inside, Porsche has equipped the Cayenne with a new dashboard. It now comes with a curved 12.6-inch driver information display that is right in front of the driver and free standing. There are steering mounted controls that change the information on this display. Porsche has also added a new stalk on the left side for driver assistance tech like ADAS. The Cayenne and Cayenne coupe now come with standard lane change assist and lane keep assist.

Coming to the center console, the Cayenne gets a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The gear lever is mounted on the dashboard while a sloping panel houses the AC controls. There is also a wireless charger for the driver’s phone.
Owners will also have an option to configure the passenger dashboard with a 10.9-inch display. This display can allow the front passenger to use the navigation features. They will also be able to stream videos on this display. Do note that this display is not visible to the driver.

Powertrain of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne

The base model of the Cayenne will come with a 3.0-litre turbo V6. This motor is good for 348 HP and 368 lb-ft.

Porsche also offers an E-Hybrid Powertrain with a turbo V6 engine along with a 174 HP electric motor. The combined system output of this is rated at 463 HP. There is a 25.9 kWh battery, which is an increase from the earlier 17.9 kWh in the current model.

The Cayenne S will get a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine. This is an upgrade from the outgoing car’s V6 motor. According to Porsche, this engine makes 468 HP and 442 lb-ft. In terms of performance, this engine is good for a 4.4 second 0-60 mph time on cars with the optional Sport Chrono Package. The top speed is rated at 169 mph.

The top-of-the-line Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT will come with the same engine as the S, but it will generate 650 HP. This Powertrain is good enough to propel the car to 60 mph from a standstill in just 3.1 seconds, while the top speed is claimed to be 189 mph. Other features include rear-wheel steering, air suspension, ceramic-composite brakes to name a few on the Turbo GT.
