2024 Acura Integra Type S to get manual transmission, 320 HP

When Acura launched the Integra, the enthusiasts were a little skeptical if the same could stand up to the iconic DC2 Type R which came in the 1990s. However, now, it can come to our attention that the carmaker is planning an Integra Type S! This top of the line trim will only be sold with a manual transmission. Yes, that’s right, in a modern world where everyone is scrambling to offer the latest automatic technology, Acura is happy offering an old-school six-speed manual box.

2024 Acura Integra Type S : More Details

The Acura Integra Type S will generate 320 horses and 310 lb-ft of torque from a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This is the same engine found in the Honda Civic Type R. However, in the Integra it makes 5 more horses.

Coming to the gearbox option, fans were always left wondering what could be offered with this car. There were some rumors regarding a dual-clutch gearbox, but thankfully that were untrue. Sticking to the roots of the Integra, Acura has offered only a six-speed manual box with the Type S.

Apart from these details, we can also see that the Type S comes with a wider body than the standard car. Acura has given the Type S bigger flared arches along with a wider body kit. Further, the teaser image reveals the magnitude of the extension. The carmaker expects this to give the car a good stance on the road.
