2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with 670HP flat-plane V8 breaks cover!
The covers are finally off of the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – America’s newest supercar, ready to take on the world.
Based on the mid-engine architecture of the C8, the new Z06 is a race car for the road. In fact, the small-block V8 powering this beast has been derived from the C8.R racer.
It’s an all-new 5.5-liter LT6 V8 that uses a flat-plane crankshaft for the first time, allowing the engine to rev to 8600 rpm. The result is 670 hp @ 8400 rpm and 460 lb-ft of torque @ 6300 rpm. Power is delivered to the rear axle via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and electronic limited-slip differential.
The Corvette Z06 is wider than the regular ‘Vette and comes equipped with a bespoke aero package. Those opting for the Z07 package get carbon aero bits on the front and rear, carbon ceramic brakes and lightweight carbon fibre wheels. The Z06 is also available as a convertible.
The 2023 Corvette Z06 will go into production in the second quarter of 2022. It will also be available in right-hand drive.
