2017 Porsche Panamera Revealed

Looking forward to the new 2017 Porsche Panamera? Well, this is it. Porsche has just launched the new 2017 Panamera. Turbo and 4S models will be available at launch followed by a plug-in hybrid version and a GTS.

Last week a set of leaked images just popped up on a Chinese website revealing the new Panamera is sufficient detail.

Now that we have the first undisguised images in front of us, we can say for sure that the new Panamera does look brilliant. That shows how catastrophically ugly the previous generation Panamera was- a fact that even Porsche didn’t deny.

Porsche designers have some how managed to elevate the looks of the Panamera by using design cues from the new 911 range. The front end is quite reminiscent of the current Panamera, however the rear end has completely transformed. It now features a friendlier look borrowed again from the 911.

Major work has gone into updating the interior as well. The new Panamera now gets a more modern cabin complete with touchscreen displays and haptic switchgear. There’s even a separate touchscreen for the rear passengers.

Power and Performance

The new Panamera has new twin-turbo engines on offer packing more performance and yet being 16 percent efficient. A 440 hp 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 is available on the Panamera 4S. It can reach a top speed of 180 mph and 0-60 mph in 4.2 sec.

The Panamera Turbo packs a 550 hp 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. It completes the sprint from 0-60 mph in just 3.6 sec and has top speed of 190 mph.

A 3.0-liter V6 diesel with 422 hp is also available. With 626 lb-ft of peak torque available from as low as 1000 rpm, the diesel can hit 60 mph in 4.3 sec and has a top speed of 177 mph and still return 42.2 mpg.

Porsche plans to launch a GTS and S Hybrid petrol-electric plug-in hybrid version early next year.
