2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO Revealed

The 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO is here and it’s just the kind of supercar you would expect to come out of NISMO. The new model receives aerodynamic upgrades and suspension tuning.

We were introduced to the 2017 Nissan GT-R at the New York Auto Show a few months ago. The GT-R NISMO is based on the recently updated MY2017 GT-R but with some additional go-faster bits attached.

The most prominent difference between the standard GT-R and the NISMO is on the outside. The 2017 GT-R NISMO features a more aggressive body kit with an extender carbon fiber splitter element complete with end plates. The whole unit has been reworked with aerodynamics in mind. The result is a GT-R NISMO with the most downforce ever on a production GT-R.

NISMO engineers have also fiddled with the suspension, making fine adjustments to the springs, dampers and stabilizer bars. Cornering in this car would be an intense experience, especially with face-ripping G-forces at work.

Under the hood, the 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO uses the same 3.8-liter V6 twin-turbo engine with 600 hp and 481 lb-ft of peak torque and is available in four colors- white, black, silver and red. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
