2017 Geneva Motor Show: Rolls Royce Ghost Elegance
The Rolls Royce Ghost Elegance will be part of the luxury brand’s model line up at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Wraith Black Badge and a trio of Dawn Inspired by Fashion models will also grace this year’s event.
Rolls Royce Ghost Elegance
It is a creation of Rolls Royce’s bespoke division and features an exterior paint made from crushed diamonds. Rolls Royce call it Diamond Stardust.
It is the most expensive paint job ever done on an automobile, claims Rolls Royce without revealing the actual price tag.
The Ghost Elegance is based on a unique long wheelbase of the Ghost and features a lot of intricate details both on the exterior as well as inside. 1000 diamonds were crushed to a fine powder before mixing it in the clear coat. While applying the paint to the car took two days to complete, the process itself took two months to perfect.
Furthermore, it feature hand-painted coachlines in Mugello Red and Black. Tudor Oak veneer adorns the dashboard. This theme continues on the inside with black leather and Mugello Red stitching. Even the wheels have matching Mugello Red around the center.
Wraith Black Badge
Following close on the heels of the Ghost and Dawn Black Badge models, it’s time for the Wraith to be given the full-black treatment. Apart from the black paint job, it features 21-inch wheels that are unique to this model.
Under the bonnet is massive V12 engine that pumps out 623 hp. The Wraith is the sportiest of all Rolls Royce models. The altered suspension and an uprated 8-speed automatic gearbox further add to the fun of driving.
Dawn Inspired by Fashion
Created by the Home of Rolls Royce in West Sussex, Dawn Inspired by Fashion is a collection of three unique models.
Finished in an Andalusian White exterior paint, these come with three contrasting fabric roofs- Mugello Red, Cobalto Blue and Mandarin. The inspiration for the design is said to have come from Dutch painter Piet Mondrian.
