2017 Frankfurt Motor Show: Ferrari Portofino
Ferrari has revealed the replacement for the California T. The Ferrari Portofino will be the Italian brand’s new entry-level offering. The Portofino will be unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Ferrari Portofino is slightly longer and wider than its predecessor. It features a folding hard-top much like the California T. Styling though has been completely revised. The front looks much bolder with its gaping grille and L-shaped headlights. A sculpted air-vent sits right behind the front wheel arches.
The rear gets a set of single round LED tail lights and quad-exhaust tips. The interior of the Portofino is similar to what we’ve seen in Ferrari’s latest models like the 812 Superfast and the GTC4 Lusso.
The new Portofino is powered by a re-tuned version of the California’s 3.5-litre, turbocharged V8. It now develops 592 hp @ 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 561 lb-ft @ 3000-5250 rpm. That’s 40 hp more than the model it replaces. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.5 sec and has a top speed of 199 mph. According to Ferrari, the chassis is all-new and is lighter and more rigid than the outgoing model. It features Ferrari’s latest E-Diff 3 electronic differential and comes with magnetorheological dampers.
More details are awaited.
