BMW M2 CSL- M2 GTS digital rendering

BMW is contemplating a high performance version of the M2. It could be a lightweight M2 CSL that we’ve been hoping for and it might look like this.

Our friends over at Topspeed.com have come up with this digital rendering of the 2017 BMW M2 CSL. We think it looks cracking!

Auto Motor und Sport first broke the news of this exciting new M2 which BMW is yet to confirm. However, if you’re keen to know more, do keep watching this space as the story develops.

The BMW M2 has proved to be a resounding success for the German automaker. The entry-level M-car offers superior handling and performance at a much lower price point compared to the M4. It packs a 365 hp turbocharged 6-cylinder engine which in the upcoming M2 CSL could be upped to around 400 plus horsepower.

It is still unclear whether it will use the ‘CSL’ badge. Instead, BMW might choose to call it M2 GTS. Either way, it will be a stripped down, lightweight version of the M2 featuring advanced aero and menacing looks.
