2016 NAIAS: BMW M2

2016 BMW M2

BMW M2 has finally landed on American soil. BMW North America presented the new BMW M2 at 2016 Detroit Auto Show just a short while ago. Now we can clearly see why the M2 is expected to eat into the M4’s market share. The term ‘pocket-rocket’ was coined for this very car – the successor to the immensely successful 1M Coupe.

The BMW M2 boasts a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine which makes 365 hp and 343 lb-ft of torque. Coupled that to a dual-clutch transmission, the M2 hits 60 mph in the same time as an M4. Furthermore, BMW offers the M2 with a manual gearbox as an option so that purists of the M-car can just shut up and stop whining.
