2015 Range Rover Sport SVR

Land Rover has built the most powerful SUV in the brand’s long, celebrated history. Created by the Special Vehicles Operation, the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR the most baddest, meanest off-roader ever to pop out of Land Rover stables.

The record setting SUV is set for an official reveal at the Monterey Car Week at Pebble Beach later this month. Ahead of its debut, Land Rover has released a lot of information about the new product. Based on the new Range Rover Sport chassis, the biggest change on the SVR is its engine.

2015 Range Rover Sport SVR

The 5.0-liter Supercharged V8 has been tuned to 550 pS or 542 horsepower and 501 lb-ft. Top speed had to limited to 162 mph or 260 kph, mostly due to laws of physics that govern all matter in the Universe. The massive amounts of torque and all-wheel drive though can propel the car from 0-62 mph in just 4.5 seconds.

Apart from the aggressive looks, the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR features loads of improvements including a re calibrated Dynamic Active Rear Locking Differential with torque vectoring, new Active-Roll Control System, two-stage exhaust with electronically controlled valves, etc. The car rides on 21-inch wheels with 22-inch as options shod with the widest rubber possible. The icing on the cake comes from the Nurburgring lap time it set a few weeks making it the fastest production SUV to lap the Green Hell.
