2005 Ford GTX1 Twin Turbo for sale; 1 of 100 cars built
Remember the Ford GTX1 from the 2005 SEMA Show? Well, one of these rare supercars has been listed for sale on the duPont Registry for an undisclosed price.
The GTX1 is a modified version of the Ford GT. It features a removable targa top similar to the open-top GT40 from the 1960s. It also has modified doors, an engine cover and a custom interior with racing seats.
Apart from this, the Ford GTX1 also packs a more powerful engine. The 5.4-liter V8 has been garnished with twin turbochargers, which raises the output from 550 hp in the standard supercharged Ford GT to 700 hp.
The GTX1 was built by the Genaddi Design Group with the help of Ford. It was offered a kit that cost $38,000 over the price of the standard Ford GT. Only 100 cars were built in the span of two years.
