1065 hp Aston Martin Valhalla officially revealed

After years of delay, the production version of the Aston Martin Valhalla has finally been revealed in all its glory.

The Valhalla was first presented in 2019 as the AM-RB 003 concept. Dubbed the ‘baby Valkyrie’, the new mid-engined supercar looks just as radical but is supposed to be less extreme.

The Valhalla is based on a carbon fibre monocoque, much like the Valkyrie. It has aluminium subframes with a pushrod suspension at the front and a five-link setup at the rear.

The Valhalla is Aston Martin’s first series production hybrid supercar. It is also the first model to use its bespoke 4.0-liter twin-turbo flat-plane V8 paired with an all-new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, which incorporates an electric motor and an electronic rear differential.

The internal combustion engine has a specific output of 204 hp/litre. It alone produces 817 hp, while three electric motors deliver a combined output of 248 hp. Together, the plug-in hybrid powertrain delivers 1065 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque.

The Valhalla is said to weigh just 1655 kg dry, which gives it an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 643 hp per tonne.

Aston Martin aims to achieve a 0-62 mph time of 2.5 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 217 mph. In EV mode, the Valhalla can cover 8.6 miles at speeds up to 80 mph. There are three more driving modes: Sport, Sport+ and Race.

The Valhalla might look like a toned-down version of the Valkyrie, yet it generates in excess of 600 kg of downforce. Stopping power is provided by the largest carbon ceramic brakes ever fitted to a production Aston Martin. It has a staggered wheel setup with 20-inch rims at the front and 21-inch at the rear wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
