Next Honda S2000 Revealed in Patent Drawings

2017 Honda S2000 Patent Drawings

When it comes to small, fast and affordable sports cars, Honda has been like a godsend for automotive enthusiasts with big dreams but less money in their pockets. The Honda S2000 was among those exciting cars that provided the quintessential “VTEC kicked in yo” moment every time you took it out of the garage and now they are planning a return.

The Honda S2000 replacement is almost ready and would be a completely new product when it is launched in 2017. For the first time, the S2000 will use a mid-engine layout with rear-wheel drive and more importantly, it would be a hybrid. It started with the new Honda NSX which is the flagship model in their line up. Early estimates suggest, that it would use a 2.0-liter VTEC Turbo from the Civic Type-R with 365 hp. However, the engine along with the hybrid systems should make more power.

Now, a Dutch website Autovisie has managed to get hold of the first patent drawings of the next Honda S2000. It does look rather sporty in the renderings with that vertical vent behind the doors, that familiar Honda face upfront, wide rear haunches and a low roof. We can’t wait to see this one in flesh as the good old days of motoring return.
