Feb 26, 2017

Real estate tycoon and supercar collector Manny Khoshbin has confirmed that Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar will be unveiled during the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. That said, it will be a private unveiling.

The Mercedes-AMG Project One also known as the AMG R50 hypercar is set to make its formal debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year. However, AMG is keen to showcase their new car to a select group of individuals who would probably end up buying it.

The company plans to build around 200-300 units of the Project One. Deposits for the first few units would probably be put down at the upcoming private unveiling. Also, it will be safe to assume that Manny Khoshbin is getting one. Alejandro Salomon– “Salomondrin” has also expressed his interest for the Project One in one of his vlogs. Hopefully, he gets it too.

What is the Mercedes-AMG Project One?

This year, Mercedes-AMG is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The Project One is one of many special edition models planned to mark this occasion.

What we know so far is that it will be powered by AMG’s Formula 1 championship-winning engine. It will be a turbocharged V6 hybrid powertrain with a combined output of close 1500 hp. The hypercar will be all-wheel drive with two electric motors on the front axle and a third on the rear.

Like its Formula 1 cars, the Mercedes-AMG Project One will feature a highly aerodynamic body producing tonnes of downforce.
