Here’s how a Ferrari 488 Pista Aperta might look like

Ferrari might follow-up on the 488 Pista with a 488 Pista Aperta. These renderings give us a hint of how it might look like.

Ferrari recently unveiled the 488 Pista – a hot version of the 488 GTB and the replacement for the 458 Speciale. Historically, the follow up to a track-focused version of Ferrari’s mid-engine supercar has been a convertible. So, it would be safe to assume that sometime in the near future Ferrari would launch an open top 488 Pista.

The 488 Pista Aperta would be the spiritual successor to the 430 Scuderia 16M and the 458 Speciale Aperta. On the aesthetic front, the 488 Pista Aperta might look identical to the coupe. In the renderings, the artist has incorporated twin buttresses that look similar to the 488 Spider.

It is too early to speculate about the technical aspects of the drop-top 488 Pista however it might use the same 3.9-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 as the coupe. This engine produces 710 hp @ 8000 rpm and peak torque of 568 lb-ft @ 3000 rpm and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
